Halloween!

This year I got to go to two Halloween parades!  One for Carleigh's preschool and one for Dylan's school.  Thank goodness they were on different days.  Carleigh's class sang a few Halloween songs before parading around the school going trick or treating at the different offices.  She had a lot of fun.

I thought she looked like a pretty cute cowgirl!!!

Carleigh was able to come with me to Dylan's school and watch him parade through the gym with all the other kindergartners.  He was so disappointed he didn't get to wear his "War Machine" Iron Man mask to school.

He felt pretty cool and thought it was fun to see me and Carleigh at his school.
He's getting so big!
(Not the best picture, I was trying to video with my other hand plus take pictures.  Very hard to do!)

Since Halloween this year was on a Sunday, we went Trick or Treating on Saturday.  That turned out to be the worst day of the whole week as far as weather goes!  We went to our ward Trunk or Treat that had to be held inside the building which made for some crazy chaos.  The kids seemed to not mind it too much and still had fun and got some candy in their bags.  Casey insisted that they still go trick or treating to houses in our neighborhood, so when the rain stopped for a little while, off they went!  They had a fun time, despite the rain.

Notice the faceless pumpkins?  This was the first year we didn't carve pumpkins!
Yes, I was a slacker this year!

Casey had fun too!

Happy Halloween!

Primary Program 2010

Sunday was Dylan and Carleigh's Primary Program.  This was Carleigh's first year to participate and was excited to say her part:  "Jesus said, Come follow me."  Dylan had to say:  "He spoke by the mouths of his holy prophets and has been since the world began."  It took him a little longer to memorize but perfected it the morning of the program.  Our primary is so huge that not everyone can fit on the stand so they had four or five classes sit in the front rows of the chapel.  That's where Dylan and Carleigh were.  It made it hard to see them while they sang.  When I was helping them practice their parts I would pretend to hold a microphone in front of them.  I thought it was an individual part, so when Carleigh's whole class got up I was surprised and she must have been too because she forgot to say her part with her class.  I think she was waiting for the microphone!  Ooops!  After the program she said, "Mom, I forgot to say my part!  I promise I'll say it next time!"  Dylan said the part with his class and I was proud of both of them for doing their best.  It was fun having both kids in the program this year!

Bye Bye Summer!

We've had so much fun this summer.  When you're having fun time flies!  I just can't quite grip the fact that summer is practically gone and will soon be seeing touches of orange, yellow, and red in the mountains!  Ahhhh....I really love fall.  BUT....then comes winter and winter is so LONG in Utah!  It likes to move right in and stay longer than wanted.  Anyway, I'm trying to catch up on a few things we had done during the summer that fell through the blogging cracks...

Swimming at Janaca's!
Dylan and Carleigh loved going swimming with Jordan and Jackson.

Thanks Jana for letting us come often and letting the kids play at your house after!

Otter pops!

Otter pops are so refreshing on a hot day!  Our cul-de-sac has been a piece of heaven for my kids.  They have practically lived outside.  Riding their bikes and scooters, and playing with their friends.

Black Ridge Reservoir
I never new this existed until a few months ago...

Ohhh...intrigued by bugs!
We all loved the nice sandy beach!

Jordan River Trail
I'll miss going for our walks...
This time we were prepared with a camelbak.

Take "1"...eyes closed...

Take "2"...eyes open!  Love my country kids!

What beautiful country we live in!

Hunting with Daddy...

We braved the storm that was blowing in and went hunting anyway.

A cactus...proof Janaca and Cassi!!!

I made Casey stop and take a picture of me with the sunflowers!!!
I love them.

Thanksgiving Point
We went to the Dinosaur Museum for FHE and then met Janaca the next day at the Discovery Gardens.

Thanks for the great summer!
